Subject: Problem with Flash Renamer (Possibly WinXP SP2 related)
Date: Sat, 17 Dec 2005 17:40:47 +0100Hi,
This problem should be easy to fix by reinstalling Flash Renamer. When you
install it, it will register this file in the system.
I recommend upgrading to the latest version while youäre at it! Just
download it from my website and install. It will remember your settings and
registration details.

# Describe the problem as carefully as possible. The more information we
get, the easier it will be for us to help you!
When I start Flash Renamer 4.61 (which I've been a faithful, regular and
happy user of for quite some time)I was shocked to be faced with this error
message: "Component COMDLG32.OCX or one of its dependencies not correctly
registered: a file is missing or invalid".
The only things that I've done since the last time I successfully ran File
Renamer (a couple of days ago) was to upgrade from WinXP SP1 to SP2 and
install a new eVGA Geforce 6600GT AGP graphics card (with latest Nvidia
drivers).
# Give many "before & after" filename examples.

# Screenshots can be very helpful since they often provide more information
to us than is possible to describe in words. You may attach several
screenshots to show different events that happens. Please save screenshots
as .jpg images, no more than 100kb each.

# If a bug occurs, try to describe exactly when it happens, and what happens
before and after.
1. I double-click the Flash Renamer icon
2. The error message comes up almost instantly
3. I have no choice but to click 'OK'
4. Error message box disappears
5. Program does not load
# When reporting bugs, always include information about your system, such as
Flash Renamer version and Windows version.
1. AMD XP2200+, 1gig RAM, Geforce 6600GT, WinXP SP2 (<-- newly installed),
Flash Renamer 4.61 (and I tried 4.8~ as well)
# In the Flash Renamer folder a file called "errors.txt" can be found.
Normally this file should not contain anything, but
if something goes wrong the program will sometimes write log data here. If
it contains data please include it in your bug report.
Nothing recent logged in the errors.txt file.
Help! I can't live without my beloved Flash Renamerr. :)
Mahalo,
Richard
