Subject: Re: Can your product do this?
Date: Fri, 5 May 2006 22:03:24 +0200Hi,
Flash Renamer will easily accomplish your first task. Use the "format" function like this:
Format: <%3>_<%2>_<%1>
Define Parts: <%1>_<%2>_<%3>
You can read the manual for details on how this works.
For the second task, if there is only a few types, then it is easy to perform using the "replace" function. If there is "a lot" of types, then it is not possible to do in a simple way. At the moment Flash Renamer can not read CSV files, but it is planned for future releases.

Subject: Can your product do this?
I am interested in using your product but I an unsure that it can do the renaming task I want to do.
I have files names using a hierarchy:
"lowest_level-middle_level-highest_level.ext" like this:
Person_Branch_Region
149826_149362_149365.pdf
149828_149362_149365.pdf
I would like to reverse the places for the lowest and highest values, so they would read as follows:
Region_Branch_Person
149365_149362_149826.pdf
149365_149362_149828.pdf
Is there a way to accomplish this?
I also would like to replace the number of the business unit with the actual name of the branch or region, etc . This string replacement would be processed through several hundred files for multiple regions and branches. Can I use a CSV data file (or XLS) to list the substitution pairs and have this read by the program as it executes the substitutions?
Thank you for your response.
