Subject: Re: Question regarding FLASH RENAMER
Date: Tue, 25 Jul 2006 20:48:12 +0200Hi,
Flash Renamer will save your day! This is really simple to do with Flash Renamer (although a bit tricky to find). Here is how:
Use the "format" function. Enter "<%2> - <%1>" as the format string, and "<%1> - <%2>" as the "parts". That's it!
The manual contains a good section on how to use the format function like above. (Seach for metallica to find it in the help).

Subject: Question regarding Flash Renamer
I have been searching for a batch file renaming function that I have found in only one software product. That company seems to be going out of business and support has been discontinued. Your product comes in next, the second closest to meet my needs. I have tried at least a dozen “Flash Renamerrs” in the shareware world without success.
The product that works is called Flash Renamerr Ultra 2000. The function I need in that product is outlined like this:
SWAP AREA “1” WITH “2”, DELIMITER IS “-”.
(The portion in quotes are user entered variables where the area 1 is the left side of the file-name and the area 2 is the right side. The delimiter is an embedded unique character that remains after the swap. For example if I have an MP3 record with the Artist name first followed by the song title and I wish the place the Title first… that function handles the swap).
It may be that I don’t see how Flash Renamer handles this need currently. Is it reasonable that you include this function, perhaps in your next release?
Thank you,
John
