Subject: Re: Flash renamer-Installation
Date: Tue, 15 May 2007 21:20:48 +0200Hi,
I've never though about the register button being so hard to find. But when you mention it, it's true. I will have a look at it and see what I can do. The problem is that I have no good place to put such a button...
About the settings, I have actually changed the entire system in v5.2. But probably the beta that you have is too old, so I had not done it there. In the new version all settings are saved in a separate folder, and will not be overwritten by the installer!
v5.2 is basicly ready, but I still have one stupid but to figure out. I will release it as soon as I found how to solve it.

Subject: Flash Renamer-Installation
Hi Dan,
So, I re-installed Windows XP again and thereafter all applicatons.
I installed FR 5.2 Beta Not Registered.
Some points I wud like to make:
a) It says "Not registered", but in fact, usually registration is possible from within the application
e.g.like ofter there is a kind of register feature under 'Help', or so.
This is failing - I had to check the Help file and see that normally i wud get a 'Nag-window' prompting
users to register.
b) what is REALLY important - previous files are simply overwritten (like exceptions.txt)
so all the stuff that I had on such list are simply gone (many entries!)
during setup previous settings/install shd be taken into consideration.
lists like exceptions.txt shd be imported automatically,or at least old list shd be renamed to avoid
they are overwritten.
later it shd be made possible to import existing (old) list into the new exceptions list, either by using
an editor or from within FR / import.
I feel sorry that my lists have gone and actually I did not realise this wud happen as otherwise I wud
have made a backup.
brgds/Marcel.
