I was not aware of this problem; thanks for telling me!
I'll have a look at it for the next version. Until then, you can try this:
1. When starting it, right click on its icon and chose "run as admin". If it works it might be easier that your solusion.
2. Open the program folder and remove/rename the file "ExifRem.exe.manifest". This might solve your problem, although you will loose the "xp theme" look of the program.
