Although I like the idea of a global hotkey, it's not something I fancy doing myself. It would have to be a separate application that is memory resident and so on. Too much work for me. Besides, I'm pretty sure there are already a bunch of excellent applications that already are providing global hotkeys. I think your should be able to use one of them. Flash Renamer already supports starting through command line with various options. Have a look in the manual to see how to use it, and then perhaps you can use this together with a hotkey application!?
